I’ll try to keep this as short as possible, but it’s kind of a long explanation. I highly suggest you visit http://onisiondrama.tumblr.com to get all of the information in more detail.
(Please bear in mind that this information comes either from the mouth of Onision himself or people who have known him, such as his ex-girlfriends. As much as he likes to paint the Antis as hateful stalkers, everything we use against him, he made public at one point or another.)
Onision is a YouTuber with an inflated sense of his importance who took excessive pride in being featured (and therefore made fun of) on Tosh.0 and a couple of other shows for maybe a minute apiece. His real name is currently Gregory Jackson Avaroe.
Before his sixty seconds of infamy, he was your average YouTube user. He made his first channel back in ‘06 and ranted about your average things. Things like how meat-eaters are comparable to cannibals and murderers. Shortly after this, he started to produce “comedy” sketches in which he copied both the style of Shane Dawson and Fred under the name “Chibi Derf”. He flew under pretty much everyone’s radar until Daniel Tosh picked the “I’m a Banana” video to rip apart on his show.
Onision has mistaken being made fun of for recognition of his “talents”, and has since used every opportunity he can to stroke his own ego. None of this, however, really gets into who Greg really is.
For all that he would have his fanbase (consisting of mostly teenagers) believe he’s a feminist who supports the GSRM community and cares for his pets, friends, family, and viewers, and that he’s there if they need to talk, he’s the exact opposite of all of these things.
Between his exes offering accounts of mistreatment and even assault (the most damning evidence of which is a letter released by “A”, which can be found here: http://onisiondrama.tumblr.com/letter), his video thumbnails, the way he disrespects his current wife by asking other girls to be scantily clad in his videos when Taylor (“Lainey”) has expressed her discomfort with it, and the way he talks about women (calling us “life factories”, saying if a woman drinks she “consents to the consequences” [meaning sexual assault], and telling a woman she must not be very “sexually explorative” because she didn’t consent to her husband touching her in her sleep), we can infer that no, he doesn’t believe the things he spouts about women being “superior” to men.
There was also an incident in which the Humane Society was called to his door because of the fact that his videos revealed his house was in deplorable condition. His pets were running through, possibly ingesting, garbage that was littered all over the place. Even more infuriating to animal lovers, he placed his tortoise under a plastic bin with no air flow in direct sunlight and left it out there baking to death for hours. Then when people were outraged by what he’d done, he tried to put the blame on anyone but himself, further aggravating the situation.
On top of that, he’s stated that all bisexual women are cheating liars who will inevitably prove themselves unfaithful. That’s not even taking into account the transphobic comments he’s made recently, such as him stating that a man has to have a penis to be a man, amid countless other similarly disgusting statements.
And perhaps even more sickening is his stance on people who self-harm. He truly believes that we can think ourselves out of being chronically depressed or suicidal, that cutting isn’t an addiction as potent as alcohol or cocaine. He’s released many, many videos on the subject recently, and each is more offensive than the last. Despite claiming to have been suicidal, he fails to recognize that he can’t take his story and apply it to everyone else. He tries to guilt-trip people who hurt themselves, not understanding that he’s only making things worse. And through it all, he believes he’s right. He doesn’t listen to anyone, and if his fans try to correct him, he labels them “traitors” and blocks them.
Which brings me to my final point. Onision doesn’t give a rip about his fanbase. Any big YouTuber would tell you that it’s the support of people who watch their videos that got them where they are - any but Onision. He truly believes that he owes his fans nothing, that everything comes back to himself.
I would go on, but this response is already ridiculously long. If you still have questions, you can probably find your answers by searching through the Onisiondrama archives. There’s also this post, which has several sources as to where he’s said these things: http://shelbyxbwns.tumblr.com/post/78800723562/50-answers-to-the-question-y-dont-u-liek-onision
(It doesn’t have all the sources, mind, so you may have to do a little digging, but most of them are linked.)
